About Intellect
Intellect is an independent academic publisher in the fields of creative media and popular culture, publishing scholarly books and journals that exemplify our mission as publishers of original thinking. Intellect aims to provide a vital space for widening critical debate in new and emerging subject areas, supporting authors and editors by bringing their ideas to as wide a readership as possible. Intellect is doing something very different from other publishers-campaigning for the author rather than producing a book or journal to fill a gap in the market. Topics range from film studies, theatre and performance, music, television, art and design, education, language, gender study and international culture.
Intellect publishes approximately 35 books and 46 journals a year. Our books are distributed in UK and Europe by Gardners Books, in Australasia and New Zealand by UNIREPS, in Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam by Book Editions and in North America and the rest of the world by The University of Chicago Press. Our journals are distributed worldwide by Turpin. We also work closely with several e-book distributors including Dawsonera, NetLibrary, Ebrary and MyiLibrary, as well as Google Book Search and Amazon.
