Helen Shaw is CEO of Athena Media, a digital media production and research company based in Dublin, Ireland. She hold a BA and MA (first class) from University College Dublin and a post-graduate degree in Journalism from Dublin City University. She studied as a Fellow at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center (2002-2003) and is a member of DRACE, digital radio cultures in Europe since 2004. She is a former MD of Radio at RTÉ, Ireland’s national broadcaster, and has worked with the BBC as a senior news & current affairs radio editor. She is the author of the Irish Media Directory and Guide (2006) and has published widely on broadcasting and digital media. Her company, Athena Media, launched www.podcastingireland.ie in 2006 and has pioneered podcasting channels in audio and video.
