Abstract
Bambini al Centro – literally ‘Children in the Centre’ – is a project operating since 1999 in Rome, financed by the Italian State. It is a recreational-musical space devoted to children aged 0–12 months and their families. The principal goal of the Centre is to provide an opportunity for encounter, relationship, sharing and global growth with, and through, music and dance. This project report aims to illustrate the social and political context in which the project was born and the main features that make it a successful example of community music.
