Allen Abramson is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, University College, London. He has written extensively on issues relating to land, ritual and gender in contemporary Fiji, as well as co-editing Land, Law and Environment (Pluto Press 2000) with Dimitrios Theodossopoulos. He is currently researching the subcultural development and social institutionalization of extreme performance in contemporary settings.
