Andrew Crisell is Professor of Broadcasting Studies at the University of Sunderland. His books include Understanding Radio (1994), An Introductory History of British Broadcasting (2002) and A Study of Modern Television: Thinking Inside the Box (2006). He is a member of the editorial boards of the Radio Journal and the Journal of Media Business Studies and has just co-written a book on radio journalism with Dr Guy Starkey.
