David Fernández-Quijada is Lecturer at the Departament de Comunicació Audiovisual i de Publicitat I of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain where he also received his BA in Audiovisual Communication (2001) and his Ph.D. (2008) with a thesis about the Spanish TV industry. He began to research in 2001 and since 2006 he also teaches at the Faculty of Communication Sciences. He has been a visiting scholar at the Institute of Communications Studies of the University of Leeds and at the DTT-Lab / CSP in Torino (Italy). His fields of scientific interest include television industry, public service media and communication technologies. He is also interested in bibliometrics and scientific journals. He has also applied social network analysis (SNA) in his research.
I’m a member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), where I am currently vice-chair of its Media Industries and Cultural Production Temporary Working Group.
