Sahar Khamis

Sahar Khamis holds a Ph.D. in Mass Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Manchester in England. She is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication, University of Maryland, USA. Her research expertise includes Arab and Middle Eastern media and culture and society in the Arab world. Sahar is co-author of: Islam Dot Com: Contemporary Islamic Discourses in Cyberspace (Palgrave Macmillan, due in June 2009). She has also authored chapters in both international and regional academic journals and books to name a few: Women and Media in the Middle East: Power Through Self-Expression and New Media and the New Middle East.
