Márk Lengyel

Márk Lengyel graduated from the Faculty of Law at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. In 1998 he joined the Office of the National Radio and Television Commission (ORTT) and became head of the Directorate of Strategy. In 2002 he left to go into legal practice, establishing his own firm in 2005 and becoming involved in major media regulation projects including the assessment of the Hungarian cable communications market by the National Communications Authority (2005); the preparation of the National Strategy of the Digital Switchover and the Digital Switchover Act (2005–07) and the preparation of the draft National Audio-Visual Strategy (2007–08). He has also served as an expert at the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee on the Media and New Communications Services.
