Alison J. Murray Levine is Associate Professor of French at the University of Virginia. Her book, Framing the Nation: Documentary Film in Interwar France (Continuum, 2010) spans the fields of film studies and cultural history. She also writes about contemporary French film, colonial film and colonial history.
