Kasia Molga

Kasia Molga as a fine/interdisciplinary artist is concerned with the intimate and personal qualities of a mobile phone as a platform delivering visual art content. Molga is a Ph.D. candidate at SMARTlab at the University of East London, researching the influence of fine art practice and tradition on digital image creation in a context of interactive and publicly displayed interactive art installation. Using two art installations from the ‘Illumination’ series of projects, Peeping Tom and 10 seconds of Silence, she examines if the mobile’s miniature screen and limited palette of colours can be manipulated in such way to achieve qualities similar to traditional painting ones such as depth or glow and if the represented picture will have a similar, different or perhaps richer effect on a spectator.
