Karla Oeler is Associate Professor of Film Studies at Emory University, USA. Her research and teaching focus on classical and contemporary film theory and aesthetics. She is the author of A Grammar of Murder: Violent Scenes and Film Form (forthcoming, University of Chicago Press).
