Kristin Skare Orgeret

Kristin Skare Orgeret (Dr Art.) is Associate Professor in Journalism and Media and Communication in the Faculty of Journalism at Oslo University College. The main focus of most of her research is the role of media and journalism in democratization and nation-building processes. Among recent publications are ‘Mediated culture and the well-informed global citizen: Images of Africa in the global North’, in Nordicom Review 2, 2010; The Power of Communication. Changes and Challenges in African Media, co edited with Helge Rønning, (Oslo: Unipub 2009); Television News: The South African post apartheid experience: Continuity and change in the SABC, (VDM Verlag 2009); ‘When will the daybreak come? Popular music and political processes in Ethiopia’, in Nordicom Review 2, 2008.
