Tim Palmer is Associate Professor of Film Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His latest book is Brutal Intimacy: Analyzing Contemporary French Cinema (Wesleyan University Press, 2011). He is also co-editor of the Directory of World Cinema: France (Intellect, forthcoming 2012); and will follow this in 2013 with a monograph on the film Irreversible. His research has appeared in Cinema Journal, Journal of Film and Video, Studies in French Cinema, The French Review, New Review of Film and Television Studies and Film International.
