Gary D. Rhodes

Gary D. Rhodes is a Lecturer at The Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He is the author of such books as Lugosi (McFarland, 1997), White Zombie: Anatomy of a Horror Film (McFarland, 2002), and Alma Rubens, Silent Snowbird (McFarland, 2006), as well as the editor of Horror at the Drive-In (McFarland, 2001), Edgar G. Ulmer: Detour on Poverty Row (Lexington, 2008), and The Films of Joseph H. Lewis (Wayne State University, 2010-pending). Rhodes is the writer-director of the documentary films Fiddlin’ Man: The Life and Times of Bob Wills (1994), Chair (2000), and Banned in Oklahoma (2004). Currently, he is working on a book about the early history of the American horror film.
