Studies in Theatre and Performance (STP) is an academic, refereed journal for scholars, teachers and practitioners to share the methods and results of practical research, to discuss issues related to theatre practice and to examine experiments in teaching and performance.
Contributions are international and wide-ranging in content. Rather than just the end product, the processes of making theatre and performance are at the centre of enquiry. Investigations of theatre history are distilled through contemporary theatrical practice and articles report on research undertaken in the studio, rehearsal room and classroom.
This journal incorporates Studies in Theatre Production, which has been a leading forum for the analysis of theatrical practice, processes and performance for a decade. STP builds on the considerable achievements of its predecessor, to maintain and extend the scope of articles to encompass all aspects of theatrical practice and process, and bring in more multidisciplinary debates.
Studies in Theatre and Performance is the official publication for the Standing Conference of University Drama Departments in the UK.
