This special issue of the Journal of African Media Studies is dedicated to the memory of Chinwe Okwuonu (1978-2015). 
Chinwe was a dedicated and energetic member of the Ougadougou team.  She was rounding off her doctoral thesis on Nigerian Hip Pop at the University of Lagos when she died in January 2015.

 

The Journal of African Media Studies (JAMS) is an interdisciplinary journal that provides a forum for debate on the historical and contemporary aspects of media and communication in Africa.
