Philip Barker

Philip Barker is an author, researcher and lecturer based at the University of Teesside in Middlesbrough. He works in the School of Computing and Mathematics where he is Professor of Applied Computing, and is responsible for directing research within the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory. His major research interests include: human-computer interaction, interactive systems, technology acceptance, electronic books, performance support systems, multimedia, hypermedia, electronic course delivery and computer-based learning.

He graduated from the University of Wales with a First Class Honours BSc in Science and he was also the Ayling Prizewinner for his graduation year. He holds a Ph.D. in low-temperature photochemistry and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS).
