Tien-yi Chao
Tien-Yi Chao is an associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University. She has published several journal articles on Margaret Cavendish, alchemy and modern gender theories. Her debut Chinese novel was a winner of the 2011 SPP New Writer Awards in Taiwan, and was published in June 2012. She is currently working on her second novel and a monograph on early modern literature and alchemy; she is also conducting a three-year government-funded research project on the icon of ‘English butler’ in western media and Japanese ACG (animations, comics, games).
