Armida De La Garza

Armida de la Garza is Senior Lecturer in Screen Media and Digital Humanities at the University College Cork, Ireland. Prior to that she was Associate Professor at the University of Xian Jiaotong -  Liverpool, where she set up Communication and Media Studies. Deputy Head of Division for 4 years at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, and before that Lecturer in the UK campus. Her research interests are mainly on national and transnational cinema, but also screen media more broadly, and their relation to culture, industry and education. She has published on the links between documentary and diaspora, and also on Realism in Latin American cinema. Her current research projects include the exploration of synergies between screen media and fashion for aesthetic, creative and marketing purposes; cinema and the museum, and experiential learning.
