Katherine Spring
Katherine Spring is Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada. Her research interests include film sound and music, American film history, Hong Kong cinema, and theories of film narrative and narration. She has published articles and reviews in Cinema Journal, Film International, and 16:9, and chapters on Hong Kong filmmaker Johnnie To and music in science fiction cinema. Her book on popular music in American cinema during Hollywood's transition to sound is under contract with Oxford University Press. In her spare time, she serves on the Board of Directors of - and programmes films for - Cinematheque Waterloo.
