Resetting the Stage launches
Events being organised across Europe to celebrate Dragan Klaic's final book

Intellect in honoured to be publishing Dragan Klaic’s final book, Resetting the Stage, which deals with the way in which public theatre has suffered under changing patterns of cultural consumption.

We are very pleased to say that launches, talks and celebrations are being organised across Europe; in Italy, Croatia, the Netherlands and many more places besides, people are getting together to honour and discuss the important work that was done by Dragan Klaic during his lifetime.
At a time when arts funding is being drastically cut it has never been more important for public theatre to demonstrate its continued merit. In Resetting the Stage, Dragan Klaic argues convincingly that, in an increasingly crowded market of cultural goods, public theatre is best served not by imitating its much larger commercial counterpart, but by asserting its artistic distinctiveness and the considerable benefit this confers on the public. There could hardly be a more important time for put forward this argument or for practitioners and programmers to discuss it.
So if you’re in Zagreb on October 27th Booksa is very kindly hosting a launch at 18:30. Or if you’re in Italy for the General Assembly of the European Theatre Convention there is a launch at the Florence Auditorium Sant’Apollonia at 12.30 on October 26th.
