CALL FOR ARTICLES: Special Issue: ‘Public Relations: communication, engagement and dialogue’

Catalan Journal of Communication & Cultural Studies – Special Issue 7.2 (Fall 2015)

Guest Editors: Sunsi Huertas, Paul Capriotti (Rovira i Virgili University)
The field of Public Relations is experiencing a major transformation due to the appearance of new communication technologies and social changes. Major potentialities for communication have emerged, as well as new risks that (some of) these entail. Organizations in the public and private sectors should rethink their communicative strategies and acknowledge emerging audiences in order to face these challenges. Therefore, scholars and practitioners in Public Relations should continue doing critical research on key topics.
The X International Conference on Public Relations Research, organized by the Association of Researchers in PR (AIRP), will take place at the Rovira i Virgili University (Spain) in April 2015. The Catalan Journal of Communication and Cultural Studies wants to devote its special issue to this topic.
We welcome research on:
- The professional sector of Public Relations
- Strategic and organizational communication
- Community Management and emerging audience
- Current research in Public Relations
- Innovation in Public Relations
- Public Relations for social change
- Power, activism and critical perspectives in Public Relations
- Public Relations and crisis management
The journal plans to include articles of around 6500-7000 words, as well as brief research notes and reports of around 2000-3000 words for the Viewpoint section. Full articles for proposed contributions should be sent to by 1 March 2015. All contributions will be subjected to double blind peer review.
