Emma Bolland

Emma Bolland is an artist and writer based in Sheffield, who works across critical and creative writing, film and performance, using strategies of expanded screenwriting and live film narration. She is interested in ‘faulty translation’ in relation to post-traumatic language, and art practice as a strategy for speaking the unspeakable. Her ‘readings as performance’ for 2018 will include those at Critical Reinventions (University of East Anglia) and at Miss Read in Berlin. Her auto-fictive essay ‘Manus’, using experimental writing to examine screen violence, is included in On Violence (2018), described by Chris Kraus as ‘a brilliant and timely anthology’.
