Ming-Tsung Lee

 

Ming-Tsung Lee obtained his Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at King’s College, University of Cambridge in 2005 and then began to teach in the Department of Sociology, National Taiwan University. His research interests include new media and popular culture, sociology of consumption, urban ethnography, East-Asian modernities, and so on. In 2018, he moved to Taipei National University of the Arts to teach in both the Center for General Education and the Department of Filmmaking. Now he is also the CEO of Searchlight Culture Lab. He leads the team to do research projects for the governments, enterprises, and NGO/NPOs, and make several magazines, books, documentaries and TV programs, as well as various art curation and huge cultural festivals. He has published several books, including academic and creative writing. He was awarded as 2018 “Men of the Year” by GQ magazine and also 2019 “The Most Influential People” by La Vie Magazine.
